D.I.Y. FLUFFY SLIME

It has been a while and no thanks to Corona Virus (COVID19), our usual way of life is well, down the drain.

Not to worry though, because us moms, would never run out of ideas. How could we, when our children solely rely on our super powers and mom mad skills to keep them sane?

So, to appease my children's boredom, we made a video of a DO IT YOURSELF FLUFFY SLIME.

Well, here are the things that you need to get things started. Oh, by the way, did I mention that the ingredients are really easy to find and are very affordable?

MERCURY DRUG STORE:

  • Gillette Shaving Foam
  • Renu Contact Lense Solution
NATIONAL BOOKSTORE:
  • Elmer's Glue All
GROCERY STORE:
  • Baking Soda
  • Wilton Food Color (or any local food color you want)
  • Mineral Water (nope, not tap)

Now, below are the materials that you need, and yeah they are available at home, too!
  • Glass Bowls (or stainless)
  • Measuring Cups, and
  • Measuring Spoons
  • (and a lot of tissue papers! for clean up!)

TIP!
We highly recommend to use the above brands as we have personally tested that they work well in making the slime FLUFFY. But, in case you can't find an alternative, please keep in mind that what we need is a shaving FOAM (not gel or liquid solution) and a contact lense solution with BORIC ACID and SODIUM BORATE. These two ingredients are crucial to make this work!

Now, since the above ingredients are really used for the skin (and eye!) it is safe to assume that these are kid-friendly.

Here's the measurements!
2/3 cup WHITE Elmer's Glue (that is 1/3 cup twice!)
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 cup of mineral water
2-3 cups of shaving foam
1.5 Tablespoon of contact lense solution

Upon adding the baking soda to the Elmer's Glue, mix the solution until it is properly incorporated. Every after addition to the solution, you have to mix it properly.

Once the contact lense has been added, check if your mix is already coming together. If not, gradually add more contact lense solution (don't over do it though!). In a few minutes, it should be a bit sticky but can be lifted off the bowl.

The consistency is really sticky, but as you knead it more, it will become that FLUFFY SLIME that kids love!

And yes, YOU ARE MOST WELCOME!
