Home Cooked Meals: Pork Stew with Liver Spread

Okay, so before you look at this post with a strange, disgusted look, you might want to check it out first. Yes, this is is a pork stew recipe in case you don't have any idea of what to serve your family for dinner tonight.

Imagine, a slowly cooked pork that peels right off the bone, marinating in tomato sauce, potatoes and carrots with an additional punch from a liver spread. Sounds strange but this will definitely have your family or loved ones go back for another serving!

Let's start off with the ingredients:
(Serving Size: 4 persons. Feel free to double the recipe for more guests)

2pcs Large Carrots, peeled, sliced by half an inch thick
3pcs Medium Potatoes, peeled, cut into to four pieces
3pcs Shallots, peeled and sliced
4pcs Garlic cloves, peeled and sliced
1can Whole Button mushrooms, drained
1can Reno Liver Spread (smallest can)
1pouch 200ml Tomato Sauce
1/2Kilo Pork (better if you get the rib part)

5Tblsp Cooking Oil
Salt and Pepper to Taste
2Tblsp Fish Sauce
2-3 glasses of Water

Here are the steps:

1.) In a pot, heat up the oil and saute shallots and garlic cloves until the shallots becomes translucent and the garlic, golden.

2.) Add pork.

 3.) Add fish sauce.

4.) Put the lid on for a few minutes until the fish sauce dissipates.

5.) As soon as you see that the pork is starting to release its own oil, add the tomato sauce.

6.) Give it a little stir, so the tomato sauce coats the pork and add water. Let it boil for 5 minutes.

7.) Add the liver spread. Ensure that you stir it properly to dissolve the liver spread and to thicken the stew. Boil for 10 minutes in low heat.

8.) Add salt and pepper to taste. Let it boil for another 5 minutes.

9.) Add your vegetables and mushroom. Let it boil for another 10-15 minutes or until the pork, carrots, mushroom and potato are soft. You can add another glass of water if the soup becomes too thick.

VIOLA! Dinner is served!

Let me know how you find this dish. You can add a little green to balance out the orange. Maybe some peas?

Anyway, hope you guys like it!
